Becoming a parent is a life changing event that can trigger depression, anxiety, and unresolved trauma. Maternal mental health is important not only for mom, but for the whole family. I offer moms and dads a space to process thoughts and feelings related challenges experienced during the parenting stages of planning, pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood.
I specialize in providing individual psychotherapy to parents and dyadic (parent-child) psychotherapy to children ages birth to five. With over 10 years of experience working with families of young children, I can hold the perspective of both mental health and child development. This benefits parents as they can learn about their child’s overall developmental at the same time as their mental health needs.
EMDR is a research-supported therapy that helps people heal from trauma and other stressful experiences. Those who have experienced trauma often feel “stuck”. EMDR allows the brain to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories and continue the healing process. This means that you will be able to remember your experience without being flooded with emotion and develop more positive beliefs about yourself.
Teletherapy is online video therapy service for clients who are unable to come into the office for face to face sessions. If you’re on bedrest, just delivered a baby, or need to check in before your next appointment, I offer online sessions to bridge the gap in services.
